Cream first four ingredients; then beat in the eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl combine flour, salt, soda, and cream of tartar; then stir into the creamed mixture. Cover and chill overnight. |
Form into 1 inch balls, roll in granulated sugar to coat the surface. Place on baking sheet and flatten with the bottom of a glass. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees or until light brown on edge.
Yield: approximately 7 dozen cookies.
