SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES
1 cup shortening with part butter or margarine, softened
1-1/2cups sugar
2 eggs
2tsp cream of tartar
1/4tsp salt
2-3/4cups all purpose flour
1tsp soda
Mixture
2tsp cinnamon
2tbsp granulated sugar
Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugar, and eggs. Blend flour, soda, salt, and cream of tartar and mix in. Cover and chill for 2 to 3 hours.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Place 2 inches apart on un-greased baking sheet.

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown on edge.

Yield: approximately 6 dozen 2 to 2-1/2 inch cookies.
