Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugar, and eggs. Blend flour, soda, salt, and cream of tartar and mix in. Cover and chill for 2 to 3 hours. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Place 2 inches apart on un-greased baking sheet. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown on edge. Yield: approximately 6 dozen 2 to 2-1/2 inch cookies. |
